The main train track from Sacramento to Reno runs right behind my office and a 300 foot section of its bridge trestle caught on fire on 3/15/07 in the late afternoon and caused disruption to the highway, nearby businesses, and of course train service. It took 2 full days to put it out, and it sent a jet black plume straight up. It is estimated that it will be weeks before train service can resume.
